Research Projects
Integration of 5DT Data Gloves with Unreal Engine 4
SAVR Lab, Department Industrial Engineering and Management
Duration: October 2017 - March 2018
IIT Kharagpur
Developed an Unreal Engine plugin for 5DT Data Gloves 14 Ultra.
The Data Gloves record precise joint angles of the user’s hands and the plugin serves as an interface that reenacts those motions on virtual hands inside Unreal Engine for manipulating objects inside a virtual environment.
VirtualKGP Simulator for Autonomous Driving
SAVR Lab, Department Industrial Engineering and Management
Duration: August 2017 - December 2017
IIT Kharagpur
Used AI Agent Simulation and open-source Unreal Engine plugins for Python, Tensorflow and OpenCV to train self-driving cars inside a simulated model of the IIT Kharagpur campus called VirtualKGP.
Prototyped a multi-agent simulator capable of training self-driving cars using Deep Reinforcement Learning.
The developed simulator is capable of testing and validation of the entire perceive-plan-act pipeline for autonomous driving.
Virtual ISE
SAVR Lab, Department Industrial Engineering and Management
Duration: July 2017 - September 2017
IIT Kharagpur
Lead a team of four in Project Virtual ISE, an academic project with the goal of building a 3D model of the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering (ISE), IIT Kharagpur using a FARO 3D X-130 laser scanner.
The scanned point-clouds and images from the laser scanner were denoised, registered/stitched and exported to the input formats of the 3D rendering softwares to be used later in the pipeline using the FARO Scene 6.2 software.
Next, the processed point clouds were used to create immersive VR environments using FARO Scene 6.2 VR App and Unreal Engine and virtual 3D walk-throughs using Revit and Autodesk 3DS Max.
Real-Time Physics Simulation in Unreal Engine 4
SAVR Lab, Department Industrial Engineering and Management
